In light of my previous post about resolutions I thought I'd share some of my GOALS for 2012. The one requisite goal that always escapes me is eating better, (although I have to admit that in light of my MS I have gotten at least a little better) in 2011 I adjusted my diet to exclude red meat. That was done simply to aid in my digestion, it is working somewhat with the aid of fiber supplements. Another area of my life that I'd like to improve upon is my social-skills, that includes getting out more and not relying solely on the Internet.

100 post wrap-up
according to my blogspot dashboard THIS will be my 100th post and I thought I'd share something a little out of left field. Lately I've really been anti-social, the only setback with that is that I haven't attended my in-person MS Support group for the last three months. Aside from going to the gym I just don't enjoy being around people at times, It's really a shame, in the meantime I try to keep myself informed online (re: MS). The next meeting is in January and I do plan to attend that one..
Aside from my bouts of being a recluse I do try my best to include myself through family members or through Facebook, although I have to admit that sometimes I do feel the urge to just turn off the laptop and just hole up somewhere non-digital. What do you think?

handwriting atrophy?
I'd like to share something about me that's changed since being on disability, since I no longer work and just use a laptop at home to communicate with friends I really haven't had any situations that have called for handwriting skills. My neuro's office already has my pertinent info down so I don't have to re-write anything for subsequent visits.I mention this because When I went to join my gym last month I DID have to use my handwriting and it was seriously lacking. In my working past pretty much all of the jobs that I have had have required writing of some sort or another be it progress reports or a shipping manifest. The afore mentioned gym membership sheet looked like a ransom demand. I really wasn't embarrassed I just found it odd how being out of practice for a year can really wreak havoc on someone's handwriting. My proposed solution, I have an old moleskin journalbook that I will use to occasionally scribble in, I have no problem with that since I used to that in highschool anyway. That is NOT my handwriting up there

leaving on a jetplane pt. 2, Going Home
well I celebrated World MS Day by traveling a states away from home via Continental, good airline. Tomorrow I will make my return home via USAir, I'm not really worried about the traveling, I figure I'm home free once the TSA agent does his required groping, that's one of the perils of having to use a walker and not being able to stand for the body scanner. I'm not that bothered by the pat down and aside from my sarcasm I really don't see why most people are scared by the process.
Once seated on the plane my major concern lies with getting a good angle for my feet, on my flight into Newark I didn't have good foot space and I thought that I would never walk again. My flight from Newark to Dayton was better foot space wise. All flight crews are trained regarding American with disabilities act and I witnessed that first hand last week re: being able to use my walker to the craft doors. I believe I shouldn't have any problems tomorrow, Flying from Dayton to Charlotte and then home from there!

road rage or just me being angry?
I'd like to know if anyone else experiences this situation at super markets. Maybe it's just one of those situations where I'm making something out of nothing. The able bodied shoppers like to stand wherever they so desire even if its in front of an aisle or an item I might like to access, I'm not much of a yeller so I expect most sighted people to see a fat guy wheeling toward something and be courteous. I might need to navigate exactly where they are but no they'll stand where they please, I try not to say "excuse me" alot because it loses its meaning after the first twenty times and I'm afraid I might yell or at best GROWL it, Don't get me wrong, I'm not a bitter driver, the last thing I need is to give the community a bad name. And I certainly don't go around with a sense of entitlement , but I just expect a little give and take from my fellow shoppers to not block an aisle. I'd love to use my cane in the store but I'd get exhausted after 20 feet and it might take me till next year to finish my shopping. Let me know if this has happened to you
